November is just around the corner, which means that also Wellbeing Week is approaching. Wellbeing Week, which takes place on 11.-15.11., will include a fair day with a theme of Stand together – but what is the Stand together exactly about?
The Stand together campaign is a product of the infamous Corona years. As campus doors closed and students and staff retreated to the privacy of their own homes, a new kind of need for community arose. This need was met by Stand together.
Although we are (thankfully) no longer living in pandemic times, student wellbeing is still not guaranteed today. That’s why there’s still need for such activities, and the Stand together -campaign continues. It’s agenda today is to support the well-being of Oamk students.
“Your well-being, progress with your studies and your ability to cope are all intertwined. Don’t be left alone, look after your and our community’s well-being. Stand together means that we support each other and treat each other as equal individuals, and we secure that our campuses are peaceful places to work and study”, states the campaign website.
Fair day takes over Linnanmaa Campus
Although the campaign has been running for several years, it may still be somewhat unfamiliar especially to students who have started their studies after the pandemic. Oamk, OSAKO and the Mielenasiat tutuksi -project want to make its purpose more visible with the fair.
The fair will take place on Wellbeing Week’s Wednesday 13.11. from 11am to 2pm at Poiju and the 2nd floor lobby. At Poiju, you can get to know more of Oamk’s own wellbeing services while collecting stamps on your fair pass. With a full pass, you can redeem a Stay together -overall patch!
The fair area also continues to the hallway of the second floor, where you can meet other organizations supporting student well-being in Oulu. A warm welcome!
