Instructions for joining and ordering a student card for various cases are given below.

Choose the case that suits your situation and follow the instructions. Finally, read the instructions regarding paying and picking up the card.

If your studies do not lead to a degree, also check the conditions for issuing a student card.

Join and order a student card

Join

New student: you must have Oamk student account before you can order a student card. If you are an older student and already have the Oamk student account, you can become a member instantly.

Take a photo

You must have a proper photo of yourself in digital form (preferably jpg-format).

Photo instructions

The photo can be either black-and-white or colored, and you can take it with the phone, digital camera, or web camera. The most important things are, that:

  • Your face needs to be clearly visible.
  • The photo has to be taken directly from the front.
  • Your head needs to be straight and in the middle of the photo, eyes on camera.
  • The background has to be as neutral as possible (e.g. white wall).
  • Accessories or hair should not cover your face.
  • Lighting has to be as neutral as possible (no strong shadows or over-exposure).
  • A passport photo is the best example photo.
  • The size of the file must not exceed 30 Mt.

NB! If the photo is against the instructions or it does not present the person who has ordered the card, the card might not be delivered.

Length of membership & payment

Choose the length of your membership (one semester / whole academic year) and your payment method. If you would like to have your order delivered to you, also add the shipping. You can pay with your debit/credit card, online banking or MobilePay.

When you have paid for your purchase, your valid and paid membership shows up in “Your membership cards” in your “Wallet”-section. NB! This is not your digital student card. It is a proof that you have paid for your membership, and you can pick up your academic year sticker with it.

Whole academic year costs 30 euros and one semester (autumn/spring) 20 euros. When you are becoming a member for the first time, you need to also pay for the student card (6 euros). The shipping fee is 2,8 €.

Card arrives

When your card arrives, you will be informed via the email you have used when joining OSAKO where to pick it up, unless you ordered a shipping.

If you ordered shipping for your order, we will send it to you when we receive it.

We recommend that you order the student card right away in the beginning of your studies. This way you get to enjoy the benefits as soon as possible. It takes 2-3 weeks for the card to arrive.

Digital student card

OSAKO members with Finnish social security number can download digital student card application from Slice. Members’ personal information is automatically transferred to Slice for the digital student card. Please note that there is a delay before the data is transferred to Slice.

1. Buy a OSAKO membership. Depending on congestion, your data will be transferred through the systems on the same day
or, at the most, within a few business days.
2. Go to slice.fi/upload.
3. Select OAMK University of Applied Sciences.
4. Fill out the form to receive an activation code (the information you provide must match the information provided to
OSAKO).
5. Download the Slice app from Google Play or the App Store.
6. Open the app and log in.
7. Enter the username and password (activation code) you received by email.
8. Accept the terms of use, as the application cannot be used without it. You can also check this in your phone’s settings

New students who are joining OSAKO, can start using Slice only after their study place have been confirmed from Oamk and their information have been put into student register, which will happen most probably until the end of August.

(The previously used digital card Pivo will be disabled from 4.9. onwards, but you can use it normally until then).

Becoming a member

If you are continuing your OSAKO membership, you can do it instantly in Kide.App.

Length of membership and payment method

Choose the membership period and payment method you want. If you want the sticker delivered to your home, please add shipping to the cart. You can use a debit/credit card, online banking or MobilePay.

Once you have paid for your purchase, your valid membership will appear in the “Your Membership Card” section of the “Wallet” page.

NOTE! However, this is not your digital membership card, this will allow you to redeem your membership sticker on your student card.

A full academic year membership costs 30 €, a semester membership 20 €. The cost of sending the sticker is 2,8 €.

Picking up your academic year sticker

If you did not order shipping, you can pick up the new academic year sticker for your student card from the OSAKO office on Linnanmaa campus or from OSAKO service point: OSASTO Ry office in Kontinkangas campus.

If you ordered shipping for your sticker, we will send it to you.

A new student card costs 6 €. If you wish, you can also order the card to be posted for 2,8 €.

Arrival of the card

If you ordered the card without postage, you will be notified of its arrival by email to the email address you provided.

The email will tell you where you can pick up your card.

If you ordered your products to be posted, we will send it to the address you provided once it reaches us.

What a student card is?

As a member of the student body, you get an official and national student card, the AMK student card. The card is also an OSAKO membership card. With the card, you prove that you are a student and get access to all the benefits and discounts that you are entitled to as a student.

You can order the card after you have accepted a study place and Oamk has added your information to the student register. As a student of Oamk, you can only get a card through OSAKO. The card is valid when it has a sticker for the current semester or year. The sticker is a sign of student union membership.

In the following years, you only need a new semester or academic year sticker for your card. The fall semester sticker is valid until the end of the following January and the spring sticker until the end of the following September. The sticker for the entire academic year is valid until the end of September of the following year.

You are studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a university of applied sciences. NB! Exchange students are counted as degree students.
