Networking, new friends, valuable work experience, varied tasks, study credits, memorable moments – among other things, this is what being on the OSAKO Board is all about. If you would be interested in such things, apply now – the application for our board is open until 3.12.!
OSAKO’s Board is a team of 6-8 students who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the Student Union together with the staff. The board members – for example – organize events, coordinate tutoring and activities for international students, attend meetings and workshops and overall represent Oamk’s students.
OSAKO’s board is a so-called “working board”, i.e. you get paid for your work all year round (except for the summer months). The monthly pay ranges from €450 to €650, depending on one’s role on the board.
However, the working board also means that being a member of the board requires a fairly high time commitment. However, with good time coordination, you can also manage to complete your studies and/or other work alongside your board work.
Application process and selection of the board
The new board will be selected at Body of the Representatives meeting on 3.12. The meeting will take place at Valkama auditorium (Linnanmaa), starting at 16:30.
There are two ways to apply; either by sending a free from application to osako(at)osakoweb.fi or by running as a candidate on the meeting on 3.12.
If you send your application in advance, please send it by noon on 3.12. Into your application, include at least the following information:
Why are you applying for the board?
What position on the board would interest you and why?
Why should you be chosen to the board?
Board work is very much about working together. How would you describe your teamwork skills?
What kind of experience do you have that is useful for working in the board?
The new board will start working in January 2025. The introductions for the work will happen during December.
If you have any questions, you can find out more about this by contacting the current president of the board (fanni.heikkinen@oamk.fi) or our OSAKO’s main secretary (tapio.korhonen@oamk.fi).
