OSAKO and Oamk are once again seeking the Teacher and Student of the Year – submit your suggestions by May 7th

For many years now, student union OSAKO and Oamk have selected and rewarded a Student and a Teacher of the Year. The selections are based on suggestions collected from students and staff. You can now submit your own suggestions for award recipients—the form is open until May 7!

Nominations can be made by an individual or a group, such as an student association. Nominations should be submitted via the form (link below) by 7^th of May, after which the OSAKO’s board will select the winners. The winning duo will be announced and awarded in the autumn at the opening of the academic year.

Selection criteria

Nominations will not be based solely on the number of votes received by the nominees, but on how well the nominees fit the criteria of Teacher of the Year and Student of the Year. The Teacher of the Year is a lecturer who, in addition to their professional and pedagogical skills, has a particularly good attitude, good interpersonal and team-building skills and a positive approach to their work. The Teacher of the Year is one who treats their students as individuals, while at the same time maintaining a good spirit of community – among students, but among school staff as well. Teacher of the Year is the type of person you can turn to in any matter with confidence and safety. The Student of the Year should also have an optimistic attitude and be considerate of others. They are there for their schoolmates and promote a good atmosphere. The Student of the Year makes a positive contribution to their degree programme as well as to the whole Oamk.
