It’s finally here: OSAKO’s May Day Week / Vappu Week 2026!
Once again, this very Finnish highlight of the academic year will be celebrated in grand style. Events are scheduled for over a week, from April 21st to April 29th, and the program includes both familiar vappu classics and brand-new parties.
The most dedicated vappu-enthusiatics can collect a majestic vappu overall patch collection for their overalls, consisting of eleven (11) different badges this year. There is a limited number of patches available per event, so be sure to arrive early if you want to complete your collection!

TUESDAY, APRIL 21
MAY DAY
Vappu starts NOW – and OSAKO’s vappu kicks off in the traditional style with Ote ry’s legendary May Day party!
Gather your crew and head to 45 Special to enjoy an evening where the atmosphere is through the roof and the experience is guaranteed to be unforgettable. Expect an amazing vibe, great company, and the highlight of the night: the highly anticipated announcement of the 2025 Tursas of the Year! Event is part of the vappu overall patch collection.

SKUMPPA YOGA
Recharge in the midst of vappu festivities by pampering yourself and your body with a yoga session spiced up with some beverages! Bring a friend + your favorite drink and come loosen up your muscles and pop the corks at Skumppa Yoga. OPM (bring your own bottle). Event is part of the vappu overall patch collection.

TYNSKÄN TYÖNTÖ / THE PUSHING OF TYNSKÄ
Here’s a vappu classic that every student must experience at least once in their life! In the Tynskän työntö, participants work together to push the Tynskä barrel sauna from Villa Kaljaasi to the city center and back, stopping along the way at locations significant to student culture. Event is part of the vappu overall patch collection.

BRING ME -ORIENTEERING
Orienteering with a twist! “Bring Me” orienteering is a free team orienteering event for groups of 2–6 people, where you pick up a task list from Kiikeli, find the items on the list, and bring a photo, video, or physical object back to Kiikeli. The event is free; the patch and the afterparty at Jumpru cost €2. The best team will be awarded a prize at midnight at Jumpru. Event is part of the vappu overall patch collection.

COTTAGE GAMES SITSIS
What could be better than sitsis? Sitsis on vappu week, outdoors, with a theme of Finnish cottage games!
We’ll have traditional cottage games in a competitive spirit (Mölkky, croquet, pétanque, darts), cottage songs, and food. After-party at 45 Special with the same theme—more games in store here too! Event is part of the vappu overall patch collection.

VÄLIVESI-DAY
Let’s not forget about the alcohol-free options! As the name suggests, Välivesi (which means an alcohol-free drink such as water that you enjoy in between alcoholic drinks) day is a non-alcoholic event where we hang out, enjoy the fresh outdoor air, and play yard games. CIRCUS SITSIS AND KAARLE’S VAPPU TAKEOVER
The circus has taken over, so let’s get together to sing, eat, and celebrate in a truly lively atmosphere. You’ll get a special party badge for this event, which isn’t part of the vappu overall patch collection.

TUESDAY, APRIL 28
OSAKO’S VAPPU ORIENTEERING AND AFTERPARTY
Vappu without OSAKO’s vappu orienteering isn’t vappu at all! Put together a team of 3–5 people, come up with a fun theme for your team – complete with costumes and a name – and set off on an adventure where only one team can emerge as the winner. Event is part of the vappu overall patch collection.
Vappu orienteering is a free event, but you have to sign up your team via the Kide.app. Registration opens on April 10 at 12:00 PM. The event runs from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and there is a total of 12 checkpoints (+OSAKO’s info point in Kiikeli), but of course you don’t have to visit them all if you’re not up to it – though visiting every checkpoint will maximize your potential score! You also don’t have to visit the checkpoints in numerical order, but you shouldn’t skip the Kiikeli info point, as that’s where the orienteering overall patches are handed out. The orienteering map can be found from down below + OSAKO’s Instagram.
The afterparty will be held at Ilona starting at 10 PM, and the top orienteering teams will be crowned at midnight. There is a separate ticket sale for the afterparty, which starts on Kide.app on April 10 at 3 PM.
